I upgraded from 971 to 1036 and now my Admin username and password don't work. Neither do any of the other two User Accounts that I had... they all report invalid username.

I checked the "members" folder and I see that the member names are no longer there, including my administrator account name. Now all the file names are numbers, and all the file sizes are 1k.
Is this an indication of an install problem, and what should I do to solve it?

Thanks

Not sure what's causing the problem but all member files in the members directory are meant to be numbered. The names are stored in the files. The files are only small in size, Open a few .dat files and check their contents looks usual..

Well, I would check the numbered files but somehow I've managed to delete them now. Soooo.... I'm going to restore my backup and try the upgrade again.

Thanks

I created a new FORUM folder and restored my backup to that.
But I still can't get in as administrator. Says my password is invalid.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Just for the record, Im having the same problem. Except I wiped out my install and started over. Now it keeps taking me the
upgrade path instead of install. Deleted forums and blahdocs.

Thought I would chime in...

On the Lost Admin issue above:

Had permissions incorrect on the Members directory. Setup.pl could not write to it.

I actually went thru and deleted almost all the htaccess files I could find. Then went thru permissions concentrating on the directories permissions. Then ran setup. It worked with no flaws. Im dont understand the htaccess files settings in the directories though - No access to all . I can see how that would screw up the Install :}

Thanks for quite a good program.
