Quick question, does it do it here because I don't quite understand what you are seeing.
If I go to a thread here it shows only Members viewing that thread, if I then go to the portal it shows all Members online.

This is the link code in the portal button mod: http://www.eblah.com/forum/v-portal

Martin, It doesn't do it here. But I have seen the situation the OP is describing...

http://pigeonbanter.com/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?v-portal/ for example...
View the portal from that link, note the active users,
Click onto a thread in the Portal's latest activity, then click the portal button in the head menu again, note the change in active users.

See it, will take a look. Next question, do you have any mods installed and if so which ones?

Can you try this:

1. Download Routines.pl

2. Look for this line:

Code
    	if($portal) { $portalmenu = qq~<a href="$surl\lv-portal/~; $portalmenu .= "b-$URL{'b'}/" if($URL{'b'}); $portalmenu .= qq~">$Mimg{'portal'}</a>~;

3. Change it to :

Code
	if($portal) { $portalmenu = qq~<a href="$surl\lv-portal/" rel="nofollow">$Mimg{'portal'}</a>~;

4. Reupload

It was Martin's fix, kudos to him.
And you're welcome.

Martin, are you going to re-package the portal button mod accommodating that?
