You need to go into your admin panel. There's an add smilies option there.

Hi there,

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I am having some issues with my smilies on my forum..

When I click the little smiley face it does not put the smiley into the text like this ->

Clicking the smileys does nothing, entering characters manually works.. (ie if I put ':' with ')' i get as expected) but i cannot click on the smiley with my mouse.

Any help appreciated.

Steve, is the "default" smilies on you forum causing this problem?

Do you have a link to your site?

Steve did you follow the instructions -> http://www.blahdocs.com/Performing_a_new_installation_of_E-Blah and did you upload the files as ascci or binary as mentioned? also check the permissions

Thanks for the advice Nat,

Ill have a look and see what I can do, although I was using the web-interface to upload files so im not too sure about how to chmod on folders etc without having a linux interface..

Ill see what i can come back with I guess,

Ok I have changed the permissions on all of the folders.. but that has not fixed the issue.
Which files specifically needed to be uploaded in binnary mode?

Sorry for any inconvenience, just a bit weird that they items all display as expected yet I've lost the click functionality, when it was working before.

I use firefox mostly and didnt have the issue before..

I have tried it in IE7 just now and the cursor changes to the "hand" icon when i hover over the smiley but nothing happens when I click (it doesnt put the smiley into the chat box)

It is working on this 'help' board on both my firefox and on IE7.. its just frustrating as i can figure out what has changed...
